Grandma  Corine’s  passion  for  excellence  has  carried  on.    The  restaurant’s  reputation  for  exceptional  food has quickly spread, causing the dining room’s capacity to overflow nightly. As  you  can  see  by  the  photos,  our  dining  areas  are  well  decorated,  and  clearly  provide  a  wonderful atmosphere for comfortable dining. Sarah Smircich – Van Mater runs the restaurant that was started by her grandmother, Corine Garcia. Sarah  has  expanded  the  menu,  and  her  red  chile  sauce  is  now  known  all  over  as  delicious  and  unique. No-one is allowed to learn the recipe. People come in to eat from the local area, and from all over the world. There   is   a   warm,   family   atmosphere   at   Corine’s,   and   the   service   is personal. Sarah says it’s something that will never change. Unlike  so  many  businesses,  these  days,  much  of  the  staff  remains  for  a  long  time. Waitresses  have  hearts  as  good  as  gold,  and  they  give  their  strength  and  stamina to the work they do.Sarah  appreciates  her  good  fortune,  because  the  restaurant  has  made  her  family  a good living, and has made them a lot of friends in the community.

“A taste of today in yesterday’s store” reflects what to expect on a visit to Serendipity. Owner Gaye Davis has chosen to create a coffee shop/specialty gift store in a historic building in the heart of downtown Walsenburg.  The beauty of original tin ceilings and wood floors set the tone for an inviting experience.  Guests can savor specialty coffee, smoothies, frappes, fresh sandwiches, salads and pastries and rich flavors of Colorado City Creamery Ice Cream.  Unique and diverse gift items include apparel featuring Colorado and Serendipity themes, jewelry, handmade silk scarves and pendants, coffee cups and mugs, jams, jellies, and wild game jerky, canvas, leather and woven backpacks and handbags, Colorado souvenirs and kids toys and clothing.  Free Wi-Fi access, comfortable seating and a fabulous view of the Spanish Peaks complete the picture.

Our Head Brewer, Erin, crafts sensational small batch brews right here in the shadows of the beautiful Spanish Peaks!

Owner, Aubrey, creates prohibition-inspired cocktails from foraged and locally grown herbs, spices, and botanicals.

Between our fresh brews, inspiring cocktails, and funky fresh mocktails there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Join us for a wicked good libation and remember our Dirty Bird’s motto:
