Loaf ‘N Jug was founded by Sam Sharp and Paul Jones in 1973. The first convenience store was established in Fowler, Colorado. Loaf ‘N Jug quickly grew to 52 locations, and was purchased by Kroger in 1986. The main headquarters was established in Pueblo, Colorado. The stores became a staple in middle America, expanding into other states such as Wyoming, New Mexico, Montana, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. In 2018, all 152 Loaf ‘N Jug convenience stores were purchased by EG Group.

Owner Gaye Davis has chosen to create a coffee shop/specialty gift store in a historic building in the heart of downtown Walsenburg. The beauty of original tin ceilings and wood floors set the tone for an inviting experience. Guests can savor specialty coffee, smoothies, frappes, fresh sandwiches, salads and pastries and rich flavors of Colorado City Creamery Ice Cream. Unique and diverse gift items include apparel featuring Colorado and Serendipity themes, jewelry, handmade silk scarves and pendants, coffee cups and mugs, jams, jellies, and wild game jerky, canvas, leather and woven backpacks and handbags, Colorado souvenirs and kids toys and clothing.
