Goodnight Moon – A Fiber Tale
Goodnight Moon – A Fiber Tale, is a life-sized fiber diorama based on a beloved children’s story that has been read by millions and cherished by families for generations.
A project ten years in the making and a year in production, local artists Emilie Odeile and Ken Chapin help celebrate the 75th anniversary of this timeless classic and bring Goodnight Moon to life in a unique and novel way. Inspired by the work of Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd, Odeile and Chapin use millions of stitches and miles of yarn to pull the images from the page and allow people of all ages to enjoy this first-of-its-kind fiber tale in 3 dimensions and at an unprecedented scale.
The opening reception is scheduled for May 5 from 5-8 pm during Trinidad’s First Friday art walk and will be on view M-F 10-4 between May 5 and June 2, 2023.
