Second Saturday Poetry & Prose Open Mic – With Rachel Kellum
Join the Corazón de Trinidad Creative District on Saturday, April 9 for the Second Saturday Open Mic for poets and all literary souls. The evening begins at 7 pm at 210 W. Main St with featured writer Rachel Kellum, a poet, artist, and former gallery director.
Rachel Kellum lives with her family at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains where she teaches art to valley children, writing for Adams State and humanities for Trinidad State College. A poet, artist, and former gallery director, her passion is to share the joy of poetry, art, and art-making with people of all ages. Kellum earned a BFA in Art from Millikin University and an MA in English from Colorado State. Her Pushcart-nominated poetry has been featured in several online journals and print collections and has received awards from NFSPS. She leads writing workshops, performs her poetry around Colorado and blogs at wordweeds.com. Her first book, ah, published by Liquid Light Press, was released in 2012.
Following Kellum’s reading, the microphone then opens to all who would like to share their creative literary efforts. This event is free and open to the public.
