Black Uhuru – Reggae’s First Grammy Winning Band—Come celebrate you’re post Labor Day slog, and ROCK THE FOX with Jamaica’s own, Grammy Award winning group, BLACK UHURU — featuring special guest, PLANET O band…. BLACK UHURU’s long success has allowed them to become ambassadors of reggae while earning several achievements in the music industry. With 14 full length albums, 7 instrumental dub albums, and 4 live albums they have the highest record sales in reggae music behind Bob Marley.
Planet O was formed in 1997 from the cooling magma and tectonic remnants of a band called Faliciti and the Bone Rocker, shortly after their first CD release called “O”. A love of music and the unified vision of creating a musical experience that would transport listeners to another place, served as ample fire to ignite the fiery core of Planet O, and set it spinning out bad beats and rocking rhythms to the far reaches of the cosmos.
