SUMMARY:Delta Sonics featuring Ken Saydak
DESCRIPTION:The Delta Sonics Blues Band takes a Chicago Blues base and seasons it with Swing\, Delta\, N’awlins R&B and some early Rock n’ Roll. They’ve been playing in Colorado since 1992\, and have established themselves as one of the finest blues acts in the area with their solid musicianship and exciting live performances. \nAl Chesis supplies vocals & foot stomping showmanship but it’s his harmonica playing that grabs you. Al has played in Colorado since the mid-1980’s after moving to Denver from Washington\, D.C.  He has also done studio work for two PBS movie soundtracks and Denver area radio stations\, including KBCO\, KUVO and the FOX. Al has toured locally and nationally with Muddy Waters’ son Big Bill Morganfield\, appearing at venues in Canada\, Utah\, Florida and Wisconsin\, as well as at the prestigious Chicago Blues Festival in 2002.   He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Colorado Blues Society in 2022. \nBob Pellegrino supplies the dazzling\, slide guitar. Bob was the Colorado Blues Society’s best slide guitar player in three years in a row. Pellegrino has been a mainstay blues player in the Rocky Mountain region for more than 25 years\, but has also played all over the country.  Bob has also been featured at the Swallow Hill Folk Festival and the 2006 Monterrey Bay Blues Festival. \nLa Veta Mercantile is thrilled to collaborate with Two Fox Cabins and La Veta Pines RV Park.  They will be our trusted lodging providers for our talented musicians. His work as a pianist and organist on over fifty albums is well known in the national and international blues scene. His 2005 release It’s My Soul\, on Evidence Records follows his two previous CDs on the Delmark label\, Love Without Trust and his solo debut Foolish Man. All of his recordings showcase his instantly recognizable vocal and piano styles as well as his insightful and engaging songwriting.
