Causa Mortis: A Hospital Comedy

A run of laugh out loud community theater lands in downtown La Veta this October, giving fall visitors a reason to stay through the evening.
Dates: October 22 to 25, 2026
Times: 7:00 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday
Tickets: $20
Location: La Veta Mercantile, 300 S. Main Street, La Veta
The Incorrigible Orphan Theatre Troupe presents Causa Mortis, a whodunit hospital comedy built on one absurd question: what happens when a small medical mishap leaves a woman living with a fine Swiss timepiece in her skull for decades? Anyone who has ever spent an afternoon in a waiting room will find something to laugh at here. A portion of ticket sales benefits La Veta Village Assisted Living.
Make a weekend of it. Late October is a quiet, golden stretch in Spanish Peaks Country, with cool nights, open trails and easy driving on the Highway of Legends National Scenic Byway. Book a room in La Veta or Cuchara, spend the day on Main Street galleries and shops or out under the Spanish Peaks, then take in the show after dinner. Get tickets.
