Museum of Friends Fifth Biennial Gala

November 7 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Museum of Friends (MoF) hosts its Fifth Biennial Gala on Saturday, November 7, from 6 to 10 p.m. in downtown Walsenburg. The evening brings together art, music, dining and dancing to support the ongoing restoration of the historic Roof & Dick Building, home of the museum.

This year’s gala honors Ben Morea Eagle (1941–2026), Chipita and Bessy Berman, artists who have contributed greatly to Huerfano County. With support from History Colorado’s State Historical Fund, foundations and individual donors, the building’s historic windows and transom on the west and north sides have been restored. A recent State Historical Fund grant will support the next phase of window restoration on the east and south sides. The museum aims to raise $75,000 in matching funds to complete this phase.

What to Expect

  • Live performances by Lika Shubitidze, Archil Gheghechkori and David Enke
  • Music and dancing with New York DJ, photographer and producer Thua Magalashvili
  • Dinner catered by Aubrey Lykins and the Crafty Canary
  • A complimentary first glass of wine or beer with admission
  • A live auction with Gardner artist Harold Vargas, a silent auction and contemporary art at a range of prices
  • A look at the architects’ vision for the building’s continued adaptive reuse, with work by Scheuber + Darden and Deep Roots Craftsmen

Silent auction items are expected to be previewed on the MoF website the week before the gala. Every ticket, artwork purchase and contribution supports the museum’s preservation work, exhibitions, public programs, STEAM education and art-and-health offerings.
